About Us
Thank-you for visiting our website, and giving us the opportunity
to share our Highland dream with you.
We, the Morison Family, are not only passionate
about our Highlands but have a great commitment and love for our
local community, believing the Horowhenua is a land of promise.
As well as the busyness of our life on the farm, we (Angus and
Carole), pastor the lively Gateway Christian Church in Levin and
interact in a range of community activities.
Sam Morison, our home-schooled
teenager, also works on the farm and is involved in a breeding
program with several heifers from his own KawSak Fold. Sam’s
confidence and patience have proved valuable in the training and preparation
of cattle for sale and showing.
Amos our dog, is learning the ropes and, although
sometimes his enthusiasm outweighs his common sense, he is an
important and entertaining part of our team.
We warmly acknowledge and thank the family and friends responsible
for making the Tigh Mor Team, the efficient; fun-loving; hard-
working ; and helpful crowd that it is today.

Where are we?
Tigh
Mor Hill Country Highland Fold is situated on the Western side
of the Lower North Island, in the steep foothills of the Tararua
Ranges, and overlooking the fertile Horowhenua region.
Renowned as one of the toughest tramping areas in the world,
the Tararua range is the adventure playground of many outdoor enthusiasts,
while the Horowhenua boasts a thriving horticultural industry alongside
extensive dairy farms.
Our farm, which rises 215 metres above the farm gate, overlooks
the large bustling town of Levin, a convenient 10 kms away. Tigh
Mor is blessed with natural springs set into the steep hillsides,
dams across the tops, and the constant flow of the Makorokio Stream
past the front gate. Views from anywhere on the farm are lovely
but are especially breath-taking from the tops, framed by the majestic
ranges to the West, Kapiti and the South Island to the South, Mt
Taranaki and the ever-changing Tasman Sea to the East, and the
pristine Mt Ruapehu rising in the North. It is well worth the trip
up the farm to sit on the quiet hillside, enjoying the splendour
around us.
Our future plans include a cosy two bedroom ‘hut’ on
the tops, to allow people to enjoy the panorama and peace at their
leisure.
